Wow. Storybird is awesome! I was blown away by all of the different art options. I would LOVE to use this with my first graders. I think it would be overwhelming to try and use this with the whole class, but maybe as an extension to a guided reading group.
This would be fun to do in small groups. I agree you would not want a whole class of first graders making their own books, but maybe later in the year they could make books with a partner if they already had experience in a small group.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to use this as an extension activity. I just spend some time at a professional development conference, and we focused on the 4 types of homework: Practice, preparation, extension, and integration. Your story looks interesting for young students.
